Fair Use Policy

What "unlimited" means, what we watch for, and what we do about it.

Some allowances on the paid plans are unlimited. That is meant honestly — it means you will not be stopped mid-portfolio by a number — and it assumes the account is being used to publish an engineering portfolio.

This policy exists so the thresholds are written down rather than applied at somebody's discretion. They sit far above ordinary use; a heavy week of real work does not come near them.

What is reviewed

Projects created
more than 40 in 7 days
Files uploaded
more than 300 in 7 days
Data served
more than 50× what the account stores, over 30 days
Share of platform storage
more than 5% of all data stored here

What happens if a threshold is crossed

Nothing automatic. Crossing a threshold does not throttle, suspend, delete or bill anything — it creates an entry for a person to look at, and the system that creates it has no ability to act on your account at all.

Most entries turn out to be someone using the product hard, and are closed with no action. Where use is genuinely outside what the plan is for — using the file store as a content delivery network for another site, or resale — we contact you first and discuss it before anything changes.

What is never fair use

  • Hosting files for another website or application rather than for your own portfolio.
  • Reselling or sharing one account between multiple people (Premium collaborators aside).
  • Automated bulk creation of projects or accounts.
  • Anything unlawful, or content you do not have the right to publish.

This policy describes how the product actually behaves today. If you find something here that does not match what the product does, tell us — that is a bug in one of the two and we will fix it.
