What happens after upload
- Every file is checked before it is attached to a project. A file whose contents do not match what its format is allowed to contain is refused and its bytes are deleted — you are told, and it does not count against your storage.
- STEP files are converted once, on our side, into a 3D preview the browser can open directly. Your original file is untouched and stays downloadable.
- Video is embedded from YouTube rather than uploaded, so it uses none of your storage. No request is made to the video host until a visitor presses play.

AI Project Builder accepts more than this
The lists above are what Provenfolio *hosts* — files that stay attached to a project and can be downloaded by anyone who can see it.
AI Project Builder reads a wider set of formats as temporary source material, including Word documents, Excel workbooks, Markdown and several native CAD formats. Those are read to build your draft and then deleted; being readable as source material does not make a format hostable as a project file. See "What files can I upload to AI Project Builder?" for the full distinction.
